In This Issue: It's not too late to register for National Library
Legislative Day!
National Library Legislative Day 2006 is only two weeks away. If you
have not already registered, there is still time! --The deadline for
mail registration has been extended to April 28th . Walk-in
registration will also be available on the day of the event.
Please send your registration forms and fees for National Library
Legislative Day to your state coordinator or to the Washington office.
The registration form for NLLD can be printed from
<www.ala.org/washoff/legislativeday.html> . Remember to include your
registration fee in the amount of $15.00 with your registration form.
Make checks payable to: National Library Legislative Day.

Come and participate in National Library Legislative Day 2006! Join
hundreds of library supporters from across the country visiting Members
of Congress to share stories about libraries in your communities and to
talk about the needs and accomplishments of libraries in your area.
Pre-conference Event
On Sunday, April 30th, there will be a pre-conference event sponsored by
the Association of Library Trustees and Advocates (ALTA), the District
of Columbia Library Association (DCLA), and the American Library
Association's Washington Office. The event, entitled "Introduction to
National Library Legislative Day: Why Your Participation is Important;
What to Do and How to Do It," is designed to provide tips on how to make
an impact during hill visits and to help with the organization of
presentations to your legislators. The two-hour session will be held at
the ALA Washington Office , in the first floor conference room, from
3:00 p.m.- 5 p.m.
