Neighborhood Library Manager
Salary: $58,435 - $81,807 annually

Multnomah County Library is seeking applicants for the position of
Neighborhood Library Manager. Managers are the senior leaders at the
four largest Neighborhood Libraries in the system, managing a staff of
24-30 individuals, including a Supervisor. Reference staff and the
Supervisor report directly to the Manager. Pages and clerks report
directly to the Supervisor. The current opening is at the Hollywood
Library. Other Neighborhood Library Manager vacancies occurring during
the next 12 months may be filled from the list established by this
recruitment. Requires four years of professional library reference
experience, including two years of supervisory experience AND the
equivalent to a Master's Degree from an American Library Association
accredited college or university with major course work in library
science.

Neighborhood Library Supervisor
Salary: $43,626 - $61,076 annually
Closing Date: February 25, 2006

Multnomah County Library is seeking applicants for the position of
Neighborhood Library Supervisor. A person in this position provides
leadership in small to medium-sized branch libraries and is a member of
the Branch Leaders Team. All Branch Leaders play an integral role in
planning and developing system-wide programs for adults and children as
well as helping to define and realize Multnomah County Library's vision
for library service of the future. The current opening is at the Belmont
Library, a small to medium-sized branch located 3 miles east of downtown
Portland. Other Neighborhood Library Supervisor vacancies occurring
during the next 12 months may be filled from the list established by
this recruitment. Requires a minimum two years of responsible readers'
advisory and reference experience in a library, to include one year of
lead or supervisory experience with paid and volunteer staff. Experience
may be obtained from significant lead roles, temporary assignments or
key roles in service and project activities, either inside or outside a
library setting. AND the equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an
accredited college or university with major course work in human
resources, business administration, information technology or a related
field. A Masters in Library Science is preferred.
