Required Qualifications:

Blackwell's Book Services, an international bookseller with a history of quality, stability and growth has an immediate opening for an Account Manager. Successful candidate will possess an MLS and 2 years of academic library technical experience and at least 2 years of customer contact experience, or equivalent work experience.
Additional Requirements Knowledge of MaRC record format and field use standards required. Understanding needed of cataloging practices/procedures as applied by academic libraries and the market for cataloging support services. Cataloging experience is a plus. Excellent written/verbal communications, interpersonal and research skills and dedication to quality in customer service are important. Minimal travel required. This person will enjoy working closely with others in a team-oriented department.
Duties Act as primary contact for customers subscribing to Blackwell's technical services products including CIP Upgrades, addition of Tables of Contents, provision of cataloging records, and physical processing. Determine requirements and specifications, initiate services and coordinate with other departments including programming.
Respond to customer queries, locate information and resolve service problems. In conjunction with customer support, occasionally represent the company at trade shows and on site visits. Research and assist with testing/analyzing new service options. Work with book sales division in expanding customer use of services and maintaining long-term relationships. Assist in completing responses for bids/RFPs.
