Access Services Coordinator

Access Services Coordinator: 1.0 FTE. Full time, 40 hours per week, 1
year renewable contract. Includes benefits. Reports to Reference
Service Coordinator. Preferred starting date January 1, 2007.
Salary $40,008 annually.
Responsibilities: Manages the Access Services Department of the
Southern Oregon University Library. The Department provides services
which support the teaching and research needs of the University
community, and, secondarily, the general public. Services include
overseeing the Information Technology Center (ITC) and electronic
classroom, checking out library materials, borrowing needed items from
other libraries, responding to questions concerning library policies and
procedures, providing reserves services, video booking, Summit and Rogue
Community College borrowing, document delivery services, invoicing for
fines and other library charges, stack maintenance activities, and many
special projects. The position coordinates building security and
assists with general facilities management.
The Access Services Coordinator oversees, manages and provides
leadership for all these responsibilities, including supervision of four
full-time staff, and a large number of student workers. The incumbent
is part of the management team of the Library and participates in a
collaborative decision making process. Bachelor's degree.
Required: Bachelor's degree. Three years experience as a supervisor,
team leader or manager; comprehensive technology skills; evidence of
excellent verbal and written communication skills; planning and
organizational skills; demonstrated ability to work independently and
collaboratively with diverse constituencies; demonstrated commitment to
diversity and staff development; and sound knowledge of issues and
trends in library services.
Preferred: Five years progressively more responsible library experience
in an academic setting. Recent experience with Innovative Interfaces or
other integrated library system. Masters of Management or equivalent
degree.
