SURVEYS MADE EASY

DESCRIPTION:

Do you need to know how your library is used or what your users want 
from your library? Learn basic information about surveys, including 
what kinds of questions to ask, and how to ask them. Then learn how to 
use SurveyMonkey, survey software available on the web.

This workshop will cover the following topics:
· survey design techniques
· reaching the right audience
· asking the right questions
· getting a good response rate
· SurveyMonkey basics
· question types: multiple answer, open ended, etc
· distributing the survey
· exporting data
· analyzing the results

This hands-on class will help you design a survey, and use SurveyMonkey 
to send it out and get results you can easily interpret. Get the 
information you need to provide the services your library users want. 

PRESENTERS:

Dolores Judkins is currently the head of Research and Reference
Services at Oregon Health & Science University Library. Her previous
positions at OHSU include Coordinator of the Consumer Health Section of 
the OHSU Library; Librarian and Web Manager for the OHSU Center for 
Women's Health; Reference Librarian; and Director of the Dental Branch 
Library. Prior to joining the staff at OHSU, Dolores worked for a 
number of health and public libraries in Oregon, New York, and 
Honduras. She received her M.L.S. from the University of Oregon in

Patrice O'Donovan is currently the Portland Campus Library Director for 
Linfield College School of Nursing and Health Sciences and is a tenured 
Associate Professor in the School of Nursing. Prior to coming to 
Linfield in 1998, she held various positions at Oregon Health & Science 
University Library over her 14 year tenure there. Prior to OHSU, 
Patrice worked for academic libraries in Oregon and Michigan. She 
received her M.L.S. from the University of Michigan in 1984.
