Librarians can position their institutions as an information utility to the community. This program offers insight into building a bridge between library staff and local officials, using tools such as EbscoHost and Newsbank to provide research support and keep officials informed. The program emphasizes the value of creating a local documents collection and positioning the library as a place of civic engagement within the community. Alice will discuss what she finds out from city administrators and department heads about how they gather the information and if they are aware of the services available to them through their local libraries.
Regards,
Jerry
