ASIAN LANGUAGE CATALOGING LIBRARIAN
Salary: $22.34 to $27.49 per hour, plus 4% language differential pay

The Multnomah County Library in Portland, Oregon is seeking a full-time
Asian Language Cataloging Librarian to provide access to library
materials in all formats by selecting, cataloging, classifying and/or
editing catalog records for public access in the Library's online
catalog.  The position will provide leadership and special expertise in
Asian language materials (Mandarin, Cantonese, or Vietnamese) in support
of the library's goals for serving and supporting the Chinese and
Vietnamese residents of Multnomah County. A minimum of 2 years of
cataloging experience at the librarian level is required and Chinese or
Vietnamese language proficiency, particularly reading proficiency, in
one of these languages is also required. A Master's degree in Library
Science from an ALA-accredited library school or equivalent credentials
from a foreign institution is necessary.
