Monday, January 22
10:30 - 12:00 pm, Washington State Convention & Trade Center, Room 620
Please join OCLC Preservation Services on a newspaper digitization "road
trip."
During this program, we will be exploring the newspaper digitization
experience,
- from the planning process;
- to the major intersections where microfilm or original source material
selections are made;
- next, we'll examine the benefits, uses and limitations associated with
the wide range of deliverables available (JPEG2000, TIFF, PDF, etc.) and
help you decide which are necessary for your institution's purposes;
- then off to discuss the workflow; and
- on to the final destination, which is the online newspaper
presentation system.
The program will consist of a presentation followed by a panel
discussion, which will include production and newspaper digitization
project experts.
