DUTIES: The Kettle Falls Library Manager is a full-time highly responsible management and front line public service job involving planning, directing, and supervising patron services for a community library facility. The position will include coordinating and overseeing outreach to area schools, programming for a variety of ages, collection development, staff training, community involvement, participation on a website development committee, and public speaking. The position also manages the small branches in the towns of Hunters and Northport, and the library station in Onion Creek. 

QUALIFICATIONS: MLS Degree from an ALA accredited school of librarianship and/or WA State Certification as a Librarian required.. Three years of related full-time work experience including supervisory experience, and at least one year of related fulltime library employment.

Government Documents Librarian

This position provides professional oversight of the government documents collection of Multnomah County Library (MCL), the only public Federal Depository Library in Oregon. Full-time salaried position $36-$42,000 annually plus benefits package.

The Library Director is the executive and administrative officer of the Library District and serves as secretary and consultant to the Library Board as well as the District's financial officer. The Director carries out policies adopted by the Board, is responsible for employment and direction of staff, for the care and maintenance of the building and equipment, for the efficiency of the service to the public, for the selection of library materials, and for the operation of the District under financial conditions set forth in the annual budget. The Director manages reference, reader's advisory, and interlibrary loan services to patrons. This position is appointed and evaluated by the five-person, elected Library District Board of Directors.
This is a highly visible position in a rural and growing community. The service population is 11,700 people who reside in the communities of Veneta. Elmira, Noti and Walton, 12 miles west of Eugene/Springfield metro area. QUALIFICATIONS: MLS degree or equivalent preferred, with four years public library experience, which includes three years supervisory or management experience. A combination of education and experience may be substituted for the above requirements. Additional training in management of a library district and business, such as accounting, is desirable. Fluency in a second language is an asset, as well as a history of community service, initiative and innovative achievements.
