The following workshop is being held at Oregon State University in
Corvallis OR on Thursday May 3, 2007.
Introduction to Dublin Core Metadata
This workshop concentrates on the creation of Dublin Core metadata for
digital objects using the Western States Dublin Core Metadata Best
Practices. Participants will be provided an overview of Dublin Core
elements and strategies for applying them to digital cultural heritage
collections. Lecture and small group discussion will be included in the
session, as well as hands-on exercises. Agenda topics include:
-Defining metadata and Dublin Core.
-Examining Western States Dublin Core Metadata Best Practices.
-Selecting options for creating metadata records.
9 a.m.-4 p.m.
$75 for BCR members / $150 for nonmembers
