Western Oregon University seeks an experienced and outstanding Dean of
Library and Media Services (LMS).

LMS provides print and electronic resources and services to the campus
and works in collaboration with other campuses in the Oregon University
System and the Orbis Cascade Alliance. The Dean manages library, media,
technology training, and related academic support operations.

Reporting to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the
Dean articulates vision and strategic direction for the unit; assesses
and implements strategies for continuous improvement in LMS services,
collections, access, technology, and facilities; develops and
effectively manages budget and resources; and pursues funding and
development opportunities.

The successful candidate must have an ALA-accredited MLS/MLIS and an
additional master’s degree; a minimum of 10 years of experience in an
academic or research library with five years of progressively more
responsible management experience in libraries; and a record of
professional and scholarly achievement worthy of appointment to the rank
of Associate Professor or Professor.

WOU is a public, liberal arts university of over 4,000 students, which
is located in Monmouth, Oregon in the Mid-Willamette Valley, 60 miles
from Portland.
