The Multnomah County Library in Portland, Oregon is seeking applicants for a part-time Outreach Coordinator Librarian/ Humanities Reference Librarian at the Central Library located in downtown Portland. This position will be responsible for outreach coordination and administration to raise awareness of the Central Library and its resources for adults and families in the greater downtown area. The position will also provide professional reference and readers' advisory services to customers of all ages.
Duties include working with Central Library leaders and staff to plan and deliver outreach initiatives throughout the year; developing community partnerships and relationships; working to raise awareness of Central Library and its resources to selected groups; coordinating and assisting staff with the development, scheduling, publicity, and implementation of outreach activities. The ability to communicate with ease in a variety of settings, excellent project management and organizational skills, and a strong service orientation are required.
The person in this position will also provide direct reference and readers' advisory service, in person, over the telephone, and electronically, to Library users.
Experience: No experience is required; however, two years of professional librarian experience is desirable. Two years of experience planning and presenting a wide array of library outreach events and activities is highly desirable.
Training: An ALA accredited Master's degree in Library Science or its equivalent is required.
Salary: $23.81 - $29.30 Hourly

This position manages all aspects of collection development and acquisitions, focusing particularly on electronic resources, as we move into the evolving learning environment. The Jaqua Law Library maintains over 350,000 volumes and volume equivalents in print, electronic, media, and micro formats, and supports the teaching, research, and service activities of the University of Oregon Law School, which has approximately 540 students. The Law Library provides primary and secondary legal materials as well as specialized collections in environmental law, business law, ADR, ocean law, Indian law, and family law. As a key component of the University of Oregon Libraries, Law Library staff members are active partners in improving access to scholarly resources. The Law Library team is composed of 7.0 FTE library faculty, 6.0 FTE support staff members, and numerous student workers.
The law library is part of the University of Oregon Library System. The University of Oregon is the only ARL library in Oregon, whose 2.7 million-volume collection serves as an important research facility for scholars throughout the Northwest.
