Teaching librarians and technology trainers have long used the Internet 
to create flexible, shareable learning objects and to augment their 
classroom instruction.  Emerging web technologies now allow library 
instruction to become ambient, user-centered, agile, and responsive.  In 
this workshop, participants will explore the continuum of technologies 
available for constructing web-based instruction, from proprietary 
screencasting software to open-source, "2.0" services and technologies.  
They will be introduced to the conceptual and philosophical 
underpinnings of Web 2.0 and will collaboratively brainstorm ways to 
apply these principles to help users find, evaluate and use 
information.  Regular opportunities for hands-on practice will be 
integrated into the presentation.
