New "I Love Libraries" Package available at 2008 Annual Conference
Advocacy Institute, Exhibits Supreme conference admission, and
ilovelibraries.org Advocacy Membership offered at a discounted rate
*CHICAGO* -- The American Library Association's (ALA) Office for Library
Advocacy is pleased to announce the availability of a new discounted
package for library advocates for ALA's 2008 Annual Conference in
Anaheim, California. The "I Love Libraries" Package will include
registration at the ALA Advocacy Institute on Friday, June 26, "Exhibits
Supreme" limited-access registration at the Conference, and an
ilovelibraries.org Advocacy Membership, which includes a monthly
e-newsletter, all for $100 -- a $125 value.
The "I Love Libraries" package will feature the Advocacy Institute, a
day-long workshop and luncheon offering advocacy essentials such as
message development and coalition building, and will feature afternoon
breakout sessions on making budget presentations, crisis communications,
and passing bond issues and referenda. This program offers a valuable
opportunity to network and share ideas with library advocates from
across the nation. All attendees will leave with the tools necessary to
become better advocates for their communities and campuses.
Also included is the Exhibits Supreme badge, which includes all 4 days
of the exhibits (Friday evening, Saturday-Monday) only, plus the Opening
General Session, ALA President's Program, Closing Session, and the
Auditorium Speaker Series. In addition, registrants will receive an
ilovelibraries.org Advocacy Membership, which will feature an
e-newsletter on library advocacy news and issues from across the country.
Created in conjunction with ALA's website for the public,
www.Ilovelibraries.org, The Friends of Ilovelibraries Advocacy
Membership is a $25 donation to assist ALA in educating the general
public about libraries.

Awareness Committee in cooperation with the ALA Public Information
