OSU Libraries' Library Faculty Association presents
Peer Review 2.0: Tomorrow's Scholarship for Today's Students
When: Friday, October 10, 2008, 10-11:30 am
Where: Willamette rooms, Valley Library, OSU Corvallis campus
The OSU Library Faculty Association (LFA) invites all interested people
to attend a Library Seminar Presentation on Friday, October 10, in The
Valley Library. Anne-Marie Deitering, OSU Libraries' Franklin McEdward
Professor for Undergraduate Learning Initiatives, and Kate Gronemyer,
Instruction Librarian at OSU's Cascades Campus, will present Peer Review
2.0: Tomorrow's Scholarship for Today's Students. Whether you celebrate
the wisdom of crowds or bemoan the cult of the amateur, it's clear that
the Read/Write Web has serious implications for scholarship. The
presenters will discuss how to communicate the value of traditional
scholarly forms, as they examine new models of knowledge creation
emerging on the web.
This is an encore performance of the highly-regarded presentation that
professors Deitering and Gronemyer made at the Loex of the West
<http://www.library.unlv.edu/conferences/loexw/> conference in Las
Vegas in June of this year.
The seminar will take place from 10-11:30 am in the Willamette
Industries Seminar Rooms, third floor of Oregon State University's
Valley Library (VL 3622). Refreshments will be served.
