Please excuse the cross-posting.

Hi all,

Posting this again as we would love to see more nominations arrive. Also, it hasn't been mentioned before, but if you are hesitant to nominate a staff member thinking your library may not have the funds to send someone, PLD can give a stipend of up to $150 to defray the recipient's cost of attending the OLA annual conference. Also keep in mind that the recipient only needs to work in a public library to be eligible.

So with that in mind, here's more:

Do you know someone who deserves special recognition? Someone who has
taken "the bull by the horns" and gotten the job done in extraordinary
circumstances? Or someone who has quietly gone the extra mile to
contribute to library service in your community or to the greater
library community? It is time to put forward your nominations for the
Public Library Division's OLE' award.

This year we are using a Member Clicks form. Here is the link:

If the Libs-OR listserv ends up chopping this very long link, try using
this TinyURL instead: http://tinyurl.com/OLA-PLD-OLE
The deadline is Feb 15th 2009. The OLE' award is given out at the PLD
dinner on Wednesday evening at the OLA conference. Marc Acito, author of
How I Paid for College and The Attack of the Theater People, will be
doing a "book singing". Come and join us. See you there!
