The City of Oregon City is taking applications for

LIBRARY ASSISTANT 1 - PART TIME

to work in the city library.



DUTIES:   Performs moderately complex duties in the city library. Work
involves the check out, check in and other basic public service functions,
on a regularly scheduled basis.



REQUIREMENTS:   Graduation from high school supplemented by at least two
years of college. A bachelor's degree is preferred. Circulation experience
in automated library will be given preference. Any other satisfactory
combination of experience and training which ensures the ability to perform
the work may be substituted for the above. Involves standing, computer work,
telephone and public service.



SCHEDULED HOURS:  Training and on-call work through June 30. Beginning July
1 schedule will be 19 hours per week, Sunday through Wednesday.



STARTING RATE:   $ 15.06 per hour



APPLICATION PROCESS:  Application must be made on the standard Oregon City
application form which includes a supplemental questionnaire. Application
packets are available at the Oregon City Public Library, City Hall, or
online at http://www.orcity.org . Applications and supplemental questions
will be scored and ranked. Top candidates will be invited to interview.
Employment is contingent upon passing a background check.

2009 at 5:00 pm. at City of Oregon City, PO Box 3040 (320 Warner Milne Rd),
Oregon City OR 97045. Note: do not return applications to the library.



STARTING DATE:   Paid training hours and on-call work may begin as soon as
hired. Regular schedule begins July 1, 2009.
