BCR Offers Training and Support in Preservation Assistance Grant
BCR's Digital and Preservation Services can help you guide your library,
organization or cultural heritage institution through the process of
applying for a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Preservation
Assistance Grant (PAG).
Small- to medium-sized institutions can apply for $6,000 to preserve and
care for their collections through the National Endowment for the
Humanities (NEH) Preservation Assistance Grant for Smaller Institutions.
BCR's Digital and Preservation Services
<http://www.bcr.org/cdp/index.html> can assist you in this process by
providing complementary application support through project planning,
letters of commitment, resumes of qualified BCR consultants and trainers
and review of grant narratives and budgets. Eligible institutions
include nonprofit libraries, museums, historical societies, archival
repositories, arts and cultural organizations and town and county
BCR can assist your institution in the following types of activities:
* Digital preservation readiness assessment
* Preservation needs assessments and long-range preservation plans
* Museum collection or item-level surveys
* Identifying consultants and facilitating disaster planning
* Collections care program building
* Purchasing storage furniture, environmental monitoring equipment
and preservation supplies
* Attendance at preservation workshops
The application deadline is May 14, 2009, for a total grant amount of
$6,000. No matching funds are required.

Free Friday Forum PAG Training
On April 3, BCR is hosting an online workshop discussing the PAG
program. Interested participants can sign up for a session starting at
