Hello!

A few weeks ago we had the 4th ever Oregon Virtual Reference Summit.
About 100 people came together to talk about providing reference
service, on and offline (ok, mostly online), in and out of Oregon (ok,
mostly in Oregon) and I thought it was fantastic.

I'm not just saying that because I helped organize the event, but
because of all of the speakers and participants who shared what they
knew with all of us.

Video from most of the event is posted at
www.oregonlibraries.net/summit/2009/program.

Presentations ranged from 3 to 67 minutes, and some of the highlights
include:

Michael Baird - iPhones at the library reference desk
http://www.oregonlibraries.net/videos/ovrs2009-michael (5 min)

Anna Johnson, Mt. Hood Community College - screencasting
http://www.oregonlibraries.net/videos/ovrs2009-johnson (14 min)

Eva Miller - Keynote address
http://www.oregonlibraries.net/videos/ovrs2009-evamiller (67 min)

And a whole lot more!

A bibliography of resources mentioned in talks is also available, at
www.oregonlibraries.net/summit/2009/reads.

If you missed it, we hope you will find some time to watch and learn
from the conference video and materials. If you were there, we hope you
can re-live your experience or share your favorite parts with
colleagues.
