Just a little over one week remains to submit an application for PNLA
Leads, PNLA's premier Leadership Institute!
Are you an emerging leader serving in any capacity in a library in the
Pacific Northwest? Do you have a desire to network with other leaders
and increase your skills in areas of leadership and management to help
guide your library in this time of tremendous and constant change? If
so, don't miss this Institute!
Applications for PNLA Leads 2010 will be available on the PNLA website
www.pnla.org <http://www.pnla.org/> until May 8th. Basic information is
as follows:
*DATES:* Sunday (evening) October 17th through (noon) Friday, October 22nd
*FACILITATORS:* Becky Schrieber & John Shannon, Schreiber Shannon Associates
*QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPLICANTS:* Currently employed in a library; five
or more years work in any library setting preferred; Current personal
member of PNLA or affiliated state/provincial library association but
nonmembers are also invited to apply; a completed application; 2
recommendation letters from colleagues or supervisor and 1 letter from
sponsoring library which indicates level of support.
*LOCATION:* Schweitzer Mountain Resort, 10000 Schweitzer Mountain Road,
Sandpoint, ID, 83864. Schweitzer Mountain Resort is nestled at the base
of the Selkirk Mountains, in the Idaho panhandle, and overlooks Lake
Pend Oreille -- one of the largest freshwater lakes in the West. The
resort is 86 miles outside of Spokane, Washington and about 45 miles
south of the Canadian border. The retreat atmosphere ensures release
from the demands of everyday professional life and guarantees minimal
distractions in order for participants to make the most of the week long
intensive institute. PNLA Leads participants are expected to attend the
week-long institute without family members. Further information about

*COSTS:* Registration fees range between $1100-1300. PNLA personal
members of at least two years $1100. Members of Alaska, Alberta,
British Columbia, Idaho, Montana and Washington Library Associations
$1200-1275 (based on association support). Nonmembers $1300.
Registration fee due September 1.
Registration includes: lodging, meals, institute materials and
activities. Attendees pay own transportation costs. Roundtrip shuttle to
Schweitzer from the Spokane airport will be available at cost.
