Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) is seeking a new type of professional to help us transform into a Learning Commons model. Our vision is to create a collaborative environment that assesses and addresses students at the point of need.  We'll work with students to develop a plan for success, whether that plan is one-time research assistance or on-going research, writing, and subject-specific tutoring.

We are looking for a Learning Commons Specialist.  While there may be a couple of paths into this position in the future, we have some specific needs for the position we're currently recruiting.  Ideal candidates will possess both an ALA-accredited MLS and an additional master's degree in Adult Education; experience working with community college students; and a working knowledge of Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese, Chinese, or one of the other languages spoken by our diverse student body.  Preference will be given to candidates with an ALA-accredited MLS.

The Learning Commons Specialist is a regular 12-month, full-time position with benefits.  The current annual salary range is $43,956-56,280.  Benefits include a choice of medical, dental, and vision plans through the Oregon Educators Benefit Board (OEBB).  Additional benefits include tuition waivers, staff wellness program, retirement benefits, and flexible spending accounts for health care and dependent care.
