Hi gang,

Oh, the magic hat, the magic hat!
It moved like this, it moved like that!
It spun through the air ........

Once in a great while a magic hat falls onto our heads... such is the case with my current announcement:

Mem Fox is coming to town to speak at the Innovative Northwest Teacher's Authors Series (http://tint-edu.com/TINT/Author_Classes.html). Apparently, T.I.N.T. had scheduled Mem for another presentation earlier in the day and the presentation fell through (something about Mem needing to reschedule from a previous date). So.....

Mem Fox has offered to provide a quick 40 minute talk for local library staff on the importance of reading aloud!!

Youth library staff are welcome to join us for what promises to be an enlightening visit from one of the great literacy-minded children's authors of all time.

MEM FOX on THE IMPORTANCE OF READING ALOUD
Beaverton City Library
Tuesday May 8th from 2 - 2:45 pm

If you or your library staff are in or around the Portland metro area, this would be a great (and FREE) opportunity.

This will be a barnstorm visit. Sadly, there will not be time for autographs or a meet-and-greet after the talk. Still... it should be loads of fun.

Please let me know if you have any questions. I hope to see lots of you in a couple of weeks.

Best wishes,
