Show and Tell at Your Library

Take patron instruction to the next level with screencasting -- an excellent tool for library staff to demonstrate software, teach computer skills, and visually share step-by-step navigation of websites and databases. Learn how to create your own screencast during this live, one-hour webinar, "Screentastic! Using Screencasting as a Reference and Customer Service Tool."<http://ala.informz.net/z/cjUucD9taT0yNDY2MjcwJnA9MSZ1PTEwMjAwMTYxNDEmbGk9MTIyNjA3NDU/index.html>

Instructor Mick Jacobsen, librarian and supervisor of Adult Computer Labs at the Skokie (Ill.) Public Library, will demonstrate how screencasts can be effective tools for all sizes of public libraries. Participants will leave with an awareness of both free and premium screencasting programs, as well as the knowledge to start creating instructional screencasts for their next patron questions.
