Youth Services Librarian sought by Crook County Library to plan and provide comprehensive library services to children, teens, and families, to supervise department staff, and to serve on the library's management team. Preferred training and experience: Master's degree in library and information science from an ALA-accredited institution and some experience providing library services to youth. Candidates with bilingual Spanish/English skills are encouraged to apply.

Salary hiring range:  $31,352 - $32.299 DOE. This is a full time position of 40 hours per week with great benefits. Work hours are varied, and will include evening and Saturday shifts.

Located in the charming Central Oregon community of Prineville, Crook County Library is heavily used by county residents, with an average of 430 visits per day and an annual circulation of 185,000. The modern facility of 17,500 square feet was built in 1999 and includes about 58,000 books, movies, and other materials. A spacious children's room includes a puppet theater and a large window seat, with the Youth Service Librarian's office conveniently adjacent. A separate teen room features a flat screen television used for screening movies during teen programs and oversized leather furniture.

The approximately 21,000 Crook County residents enjoy a moderate high desert climate and easy access to a wonderful variety of recreational opportunities including hiking and camping in the nearby Ochoco National Forest, rock climbing at Smith Rock, boating at the popular Prineville Reservoir, or fly fishing the spectacular Crooked River.
