Here are the following ILAGO organization changes (This is the result of
the work groups formed in the fall and the ILAGO board).

*Mission Statement *

The mission of ILAGO is to:

- Promote information literacy integration into the K-20 curriculum in
Oregon
- Facilitate discussion and innovation in information literacy instruction
among practitioners
- Advocate for information literacy**

*

*Fall meeting/Oregon Information Literacy Summit ***

There will be two annual ILAGO events—The Fall meeting and Oregon
Information Literacy Summit. **

The fall meeting will be open to all *ILAGO* members. The purpose of the
meeting is to create a working agenda for the year, create work groups and
plan for addressing agenda items, and review and discuss items from
previous meetings.

The Oregon Information Literacy Summit will consist of information literacy
updates and presentations (including reports from fall work groups). The
Oregon Information Literacy Summit also serves as a business meeting for
ILAGO.

*
*

*ILAGO Board*

The *ILAGO* Board will consist of information literacy professionals from
Oregon. The board will facilitate the fall meeting and Spring Summit. The
board will also act on information literacy related issues (i.e. letters,
advocacy, etc.) between the fall meeting and Spring Summit.

The Board will consist of the following positions:

*
*

*Chair* 1 year term; acts as Past Chair the following 1 year term
*
Past Chair *1 year term*

Vice Chair/Chair Elect
*1 year term; acts as Chair the following 1 year term; acts as Past Chair
for a 1 year term*

*

All ILAGO members are eligible to vote.

The election of the Vice Chair/Chair Elect will occur on a yearly basis.

The elections of the Technology/Communications Officer and Community
College Representative will be staggered with the elections of the K-12
Representative and College University Representative.

New board members will be introduced and begin their term at the Oregon
Information Literacy Summit. Outgoing board members will conclude their
terms at the end of the Academic year.

*Chair** *organizes the fall meeting and relevant board meetings throughout
the year. The chair coordinates with the working groups throughout the
year. The Chair will work as needed with outside groups in the articulation
of information literacy. The chair coordinates financial responsibilities
with the board. It is preferable the Chair position alternate from year to
year between university/college, two year college, and K-12 representation.

*Past-Chair* organizes the Spring Summit and helps provide a history for
incoming board members. The past-chair participates in board meetings.

*Vice-Chair/Chair Elect* assumes the office of Chair after one year as Vice
Chair. The vice-chair assists the Chair; becomes familiar with the on-going
conversation around IL in Oregon; facilitates the Oregon IL conversation
and IL articulation among ILAGO members; attends meetings and chairs
meetings in the absence of the Chair.

*Technology/Communications Officer* maintains listserv and website,
including gathering conference materials and making content from conference
sessions accessible after the event; keeps website updated with current
information and links to resources; ties together the IL Summit web
presence and the ILAGO web presence.

*K-12 Representative* represents the information literacy interests of the
K-12 community. Representatives will participate in board meetings when
possible and provide feedback, commentary, and vote on ongoing issues
presented by the board. K-12 representatives are encouraged but not
required to attend the fall meeting, Spring Summit, and participate in
workgroups as their schedule allows.

*Community College Representative *represents the information literacy
interests of the Community Colleges and will participate in board meetings
when possible and provide feedback, commentary, and vote on ongoing issues
presented by the board. Community College representatives are encouraged
but not required to attend the fall meeting, Spring Summit, and participate
in workgroups as their schedule allows.

*College/University Representative* represents the information literacy
interests of the college/university and will participate in board meetings
when possible and feedback, commentary, and vote on ongoing issues
