FREE DISASTER RESPONSE TRAINING!

Working Together to Manage Your Disaster: FEMA’s Incident Command System for Cultural Heritage Institutions

If your institution had a disaster, how would you coordinate with your local first responders and other government agencies?
Do you speak their language? Do you understand how your institution might work with FEMA? Knowing this information in advance could
make all the difference in how quickly your institution is able to respond to, and recover from, a disaster event.

PDX Alliance for Response is excited to offer training in the first two modules of FEMA’s Incident Command System (ICS). The training will introduce
you to the basic principles, structures and terminology of the ICS and provide you with tools and knowledge to work seamlessly with other
institutions and agencies when responding to a disaster.

Scott Winegar will lead our session. Scott is a certified ICS trainer with over 30 years experience in law enforcement. He has participated in FEMA responses to Katrina, Deepwater Horizon and other disasters. Previously the Operations Manager of the Portland Office of Emergency Management (now, Portland Bureau of Emergency Management), Scott developed and heads the Homeland Security program<http://WWW.CONCORDIAHOMELANDSECURITY.COM> at Concordia University.

This half-day session will also provide opportunities to network with other cultural heritage institutions and to learn about current activities and future training in the region.

Registration is limited, so register soon to reserve your place!
