The Portland Downtown Librarian group has planned our next library tour!
See details below. I am the new facilitator for this group as Elsa
Loftis has just started a new job out of the downtown area at the Oregon
College of Art and Craft. Congratulations Elsa!

If you are interested in being on the email contact list for the
Downtown Librarian group, please let me know and I'll add you. I sent
out an email last week, so if you didn't receive it, you're not on the
list.

On Wednesday, August 21st from 12-1, we will be visiting the StreamNet
Regional Library. Lenora Oftedahl has kindly offered to give us a tour.
As their website <http://www.streamnetlibrary.org/>  states, they mainly
serve the scientific community of the Pacific Northwest, supplying
information on the Columbia River Basin, Salmon Recovery Efforts, and
other Pacific Northwest eco-related topics. Here's a link

To get there: The library is located at 700 NE Multnomah St, Suite 515
(near the Lloyd Center). The MAX stop is the NE 7th St Station. The
Streetcar station is NE 7th & Holladay (CL Line). You can also drive and
park your car on the street for money.

Where we'll meet: We'll convene at the library itself and being by
eating our lunches (if you want to bring one) in the lunchroom area
before Lenora shows us the sites of the library.

Reminder: Bring your business cards! Besides seeing some great
libraries, this is a wonderful opportunity for networking.

RSVP if you plan to attend, but we won't turn you down if you just show
up.

Finally, keep in mind other libraries you'd like to visit and please
pass them along to me. Also, consider hosting. Your library may be
normal to you, but it may be new and exciting to the rest of us. I know
I would love to see any books that aren't law-related.
