Greetings!
Please see below for information regarding services to teens in the 21st century and how you can participate:
Virtual Town Hall
As part of the year-long National Forum, Virtual Town Halls on Teens and Libraries, facilitated by Linda W. Braun, will be held from 2:00 - 3:00pm, eastern on:
* Tues., March 19, 2013
* Tues. April 16, 2013
* Tues. May 21, 2013
The goal of the Town Halls is to gather together interested stakeholders to have in-depth conversations that will inform how libraries should adapt in order to better meet the needs of 21st century teens.
Any individual interested in teens, libraries, digital literacy, connected learning, youth participation, adolescent development, out of school time, education, etc. is welcome to participate. Links to access the Town Halls will be posted on this page.
As part of its year-long project, the National Forum on Libraries and
Teens, YALSA is hosting a series of Virtual Town Halls, and we'd like
you to participate! Mark your calendar for March 19 from 2-3pm,
eastern, for the first one, which will focus on partnerships. Anyone
interested in participating in this discussion/exploration is welcome to
attend. To learn more, or to access the link to the Town Hall, please
visit www.ala.org/yaforum<http://www.ala.org/yaforum>. Please feel free to pass this information
along to colleagues who may also be interested.
The National Forum on Libraries and Teens seeks to bring together key
stakeholders from the areas of education, technology, adolescent
development, research, out-of-school time, connected learning, libraries
and the for-profit and nonprofit sectors to explore the world of young
adults and library services to this population, and ultimately produce a
report which will provide direction on how libraries need to adapt to
better meet the needs of 21st century teens. Grant funding is
generously provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
If you have any questions, or if you'd like further information, please
don't hesitate to get in touch.
