Washington County is accepting applications for Senior Library Assistant.  We are recruiting a new lead worker for the Courier Program.  The application period will be open February 1 to February 14.  This is a full-time position and the pay range is $20.55 to $24.98 per hour.

The Senior LA for Courier plays an important role in assuring timely and accurate delivery of materials between member libraries and shipment of interlibrary loans. This would be an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a responsible position with supervisory duties, manage a variety of tasks, and work with the delivery team to assure that materials flow between libraries quickly and efficiently.  It's never dull at Courier! On any given day, you could be sorting materials in taskets, filling OCLC ILL requests, driving and loading a Courier delivery truck, managing "sizzler" items to fill patron holds, or dealing with any number of things that pop up in a seven-day-per-week operation that picks up and delivers nearly 8 million items a year.  Courier trucks covered almost 62,000 miles last year to deliver materials to member libraries! The Courier program operates out of leased warehouse space next to the Hillsboro Airport.  The space is shared with the Interlibrary Loan staff.  Because it is a separate facility the Supervisor must be independent and capable of working without direct supervision.
