Orbis Cascade Alliance is hosting an all day Un-Conference focused on Library User Experience and Assessment for 75 librarians in the NW area. We welcome attendance from non-Alliance affiliated librarians interested in assessment and library user experience.
An un-conference is more democratic and attendee powered than a typical conference. The focus is less on the sage-on-the-stage and more on discussions and informal sharing of ideas. All attendees propose discussion topics they are willing to facilitate and/or lightning talks that they are willing to give then those topics are voted on by the attendees closer to the meeting date. See the LUAU website for additional details<http://www.orbiscascade.org/index/assessment-luau>.
Spacing is very limited.
LUAU will be held:

Assessment is a major priority, not only of the Orbis Cascade Alliance (as stated in the new Alliance Strategic Plan<http://orbiscascade.org/index/strategic-agenda>) but also of most libraries. An Un-conference offers a professional development opportunity for Alliance members and other library staff. An Un-conference would bring staff from Alliance libraries and area libraries who are interested in library assessment and can learn from each other. This sort of collaboration is at the heart of the Alliance’s mission.
The Orbis Cascade Alliance is a consortium of 37 academic libraries<http://www.orbiscascade.org/index/member-institutions> in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho, serving faculty and the equivalent of more than 258,000 full-time students. Alliance member libraries work together to provide services to students and faculty, share information resources and expertise, develop library staff, and help members allocate financial and human resources to serve the unique needs of each member. The Alliance supports a number of services that promote this vision, including Summit<http://summit.orbiscascade.org/>, a system that allows students, faculty, and staff to easily search and request library materials owned by member libraries; courier service providing delivery of library materials in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho; the Northwest Digital Archives<http://nwda.orbiscascade.org/>, offering enhanced access to primary sources in the Northwest US; an Alliance distributed print repository; consortium-wide participation in Western Regional Storage Trust (WEST)<http://www.cdlib.org/west/>; cooperative purchasing of databases and e-journals; and a demand-driven shared e-book program.
