Get creative! Be inspired! Explore your imagination!
The Summer 2014 issue of OLA Quarterly will be built on the creativity, inspirations, and imaginations of its makers and users. What inspires you, what are you doing now, and what do you imagine the future of libraries will be like? In other words, what creative things (workflows, strategic plans, programs, services, user experiences, workplaces, patron spaces, management styles, and/or outreach opportunities) are you imagining, are inspired by, or are already doing that you see as having value or being able to withstand changes to library ideals or practices? We invite you to share with us how you perceive and participate in creativity for the betterment of your library or patrons.
Some examples:Sparking patron interest and creativity with makerpsacesInspired collection develop strategiesThinking about outreach services/programs in a different wayProfessional development opportunities for support staffPrograms or opportunities for training student workersDifferent perspectives on librarianshipFacing failure
