Greetings Library Folk!

Plenty of free online webinars for the month of July have been posted to the Webjunction web site. This is the same list that I have emailed out for almost two years now. Due to time constraints however, I'm not going to repost them in full here but rather point you the web page that is only one click away! :)

You will need to click through to the individual webinar registration/information link to find the exact time of each webinar. Remember, time zones matter! Mountain time is one hour ahead, Central is two hours ahead and Eastern is three hours ahead.

A few additional webinars that may be of interest:

July 10, 6:00pm PT / Monthly Twitter Chat (ALSC)
Join ALA's Association for Library Services to Children (ALSC) members and anyone interested in participating in a monthly Twitter chat. Timely professional topics will be discussed for one hour on the second Thursday of every month. You can follow the chat by using the hashtag #alscchat. The event will be moderated by the ALSC Children & Technology Committee. This event is free and open to anyone using Twitter. You can find ALSC tweeting at @alscblog<http://www.twitter.com/alscblog>.

Participate online at: https://twitter.com/search?q=%23alscchat starting at 6p.

Tuesday, July 15, 10:00am CT / EDGE: Connecting Technology and Community (Kansas State Library)
After two years in development, the Edge Initiative launched earlier this year and library leaders are already sharing how Edge has helped them connect with their local government officials, build community partnerships and align their strategic goals with community priorities. Join us to learn how using Edge will help you make strategic decisions about technology services and connect more closely with your community.

July 16, 2014, 3:00 p.m. ET / Digitally Speaking: Creating Exceptional Podcasts, Videos, and More (ASCD)
Increasingly teachers are using digital communication tools in classes. Videos, digital stories, podcasts, Skype conferences with other classes, and audio recordings are becoming commonplace. In addressing Common Core requirements to incorporate audio and video enhancements in presentations, teachers are struggling to find tools and ways to use them well. In this webinar, Erik Palmer, introduces digital tools and websites and, more important, shows teachers how to use the tools well. (Note: while this is aimed at teachers, learning to use the tools will apply to any environment)

Also, there are numerous Volunteer-Management topics from VolunteerMatch<http://learn.volunteermatch.org/training-topics> for the month of July. Last but not least, keep an eye out for an email announcing upcoming online trainings for the Gale databases!

Enjoy learning something new this month!

Cheers,
Darci
