EveryLibrary will convene a 4 week intensive workshop for library
communities anticipating a ballot measure within the next 12 - 16 months.
The workshop will actively engage campaign stakeholders in both
"Information-Only" and "Vote Yes" contexts on the practical aspects of
planning and running a successful campaign. Workshop participants will be
guided and personally coached through the steps to successfully build the
infrastructure necessary to run either an Information-Only or Vote Yes
voter awareness and activation campaign. By the end of the workshop,
participants will produce several fully drafted pieces, including: a
communications plan for web, social, traditional media, and community
engagement; a plan of action to engage allies and endorsements; a
fundraising plan; campaign messaging and theme; a campaign specific online
collateral and editorial; and opposition research. The workshop will be
held online in an asynchronous setting that includes readings, videos,
slide presentations, and homework. Participants should expect a high level
of engagement from workshop instructors and an in-person one-on-one
teleconference at the midpoint of the session.

John Chrastka is the founder and executive directory of EveryLibrary, an
organization that helps public, school, and college libraries win bonding,
tax, and advisory referendum, ensuring stable funding and access to
libraries for generations to come. He is also a partner in AssociaDirect, a
Chicago-based consultancy focused on supporting associations in membership
recruitment, conference, and governance activities. John serves as
president of the Board of Trustees for the Berwyn (IL) Public Library (2006
- present) and is a former president of the Reaching Across Illinois
Libraries System (RAILS) multi-type library system. He formerly served as
Director for Membership Development at the American Library Association
(ALA).
