The Terroir Creative Writing Festival will be held 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at the Yamhill Valley Campus of Chemeketa Community College, 288 N.E. Norton Lane, McMinnville. Sponsored by the Arts Alliance of Yamhill County, the event includes readings by Oregon authors, workshops, speakers, book sales and signings and an open mic session for all participants. Featured speakers include Oregon’s poet laureate Paulann Petersen; poet Margaret Chula; poet and nonfiction writer Barbara Drake; travel writer Emily Grosvenor; memoirist Lisa Ohlen Harris; novelist and nonfiction writer Karen Karbo; novelist Stephen Long; poet Lex Runciman; letterpress artist Juniper White; poet and nonfiction writer Joe Wilkins; and book artist Marilyn Worrix. Registration costs $55 general, $45 for students and seniors; there is a $10 discount through April 11.
