Hello all,
I am serving on the advisory council for an IMLS-funded project intended to
help define the role of public libraries in open government efforts. I've
been asked to share the below message broadly with my colleagues in hopes
that you might be willing to provide feedback on the preliminary work of
this group.
I'm happy to answer questions, though a call or email to the project's
managing director, Brian Burke (contact info at end of msg), might prove
more helpful.
thanks for sharing your insight! vailey
Dear Colleagues,
With support from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), the
Center for Technology in Government, University at Albany is leading a
project to help define what roles public libraries play in opening
government within their local communities.
As part of this project and in partnership with an advisory committee of
public library, information and library science, and open government
experts, CTG has developed a concept paper titled *Enabling Open Government
for All: A planning framework for public libraries*.
They are now seeking broad review of this preliminary framework and
encourage you to join the conversation. Please review the concept paper and
provide your feedback by joining the online forum at
*http://imls.ctg.albany.edu* <http://imls.ctg.albany.edu>.
They also encourage you to share this link with your colleagues and anyone
you think would like to contribute to the conversation. Do not hesitate to
contact Brian Burke, Managing Director, by email at
*bburke at ctg.albany.edu*<bburke at ctg.albany.edu>or by phone at
