The Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Library and Evidence-based Synthesis Program (ESP) Coordinating Center at the VA in Portland seeks a creative and dynamic temporary Systematic Review/Clinical Librarian. Reporting to the AUL for Information & Research Services at the OHSU Library and the ESP Program Manager at the Portland VA Medical Center, the temporary Systematic Review/Clinical Librarian will be part of two teams: the OHSU Library liaison team and the Portland VA Evidence-based Synthesis Program (ESP) Coordinating Center project team. The incumbent is a key member of the VA ESP Coordinating Center project team and will conduct effective literature searches for systematic reviews, topic nomination briefs and rapid response briefs requested by VA leadership. The person in this position will have expertise in Evidence-based Medicine research and the systematic review process, as well as skills in searching policy and social science literature. BCLD serves a population of 16,280 with 6 branches and bookmobile, checking out more than 167,000 physical items at last count. An average of 8,500 items are added to the collection per year. Must have training or experience with MARC records and Dewey Decimal System classification, and be able to understand and apply AACR2 and RDA cataloging rules. Requires meticulous attention to detail and excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities also include working at the circulation desk, providing reader's advisory, reference assistance, computer instruction, committee activities and other dirty jobs. Open until filled. The Guin Library is located at the Hatfield Marine Science Center (HMSC) in Newport, Oregon. We are looking for an energetic and forward-thinking leader to manage the daily operations of the Guin Library, and to develop new initiatives that will keep the library at the heart of HMSC's dynamic and rapidly-growing campus. Strong collaborative skills are essential; HMSC currently hosts research and education programs from seven OSU colleges and six state and federal agencies. As an active member of the HMSC faculty, the successful candidate will build relationships with OSU faculty, staff and students, and also with state, federal and visiting scientists. He or she will develop policies and programs to meet the needs of this specialized campus, and as a member of OSUL&P's leadership team will balance those needs with OSUL&P's strategic goals and priorities. OSU plans to significantly expand the HMSC in the future, and this position will have a unique opportunity to shape the development of library services for that initiative.
