[Libs-Or] October Webinars, Reminders: Webjunction Courses and Lyrasis Membership

Greetings everyone!

October is a great month to take advantage of numerous free, online learning opportunities!

You will need to click through to the individual webinar registration/information link to find the exact time of each webinar. Remember, time zones matter! Mountain time is one hour ahead, Central is two hours ahead and Eastern is three hours ahead.

Secondly, Webjunction has made their new Course Catalog free and open to all library staff everywhere. They offer library-specific self-paced courses, webinar archives, and other great learning materials. All you need to do to access these learning resources is to create your free account and start learning today. [LYRASIS_Logo.png]Last but not least, just a quick reminder that the Oregon State Library has renewed the statewide membership with LYRASIS through June 30, 2015! This means two things for library staff in Oregon: 1) there are vendor discounts<http://www.oregon.gov/osl/LD/Pages/resources/lyrasisor.aspx> that you can take advantage of and 2) library staff can participate in Lyrasis trainings<https://www.lyrasis.org/Pages/Events.aspx> at the member rate! In order to do so, each library staff person who wants to sign up for any training MUST register at the Lyrasis website<https://www.lyrasis.org/Pages/MyLyrasisUserAccountRequest.aspx>  (if you have not done so previously) --  make sure to include your library name ("institution name") and "Oregon" as the state so that you will be eligible for this level of FREE membership. Please complete this member registration well in advance of any desired training dates since there will be some turnaround time in approving your member registration.
