Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, invites applications for a Science & Data Services Librarian at the Aubrey R. Watzek Library. Watzek Library supports the College of Arts & Sciences and the Graduate School of Education & Counseling, and is a member of the Orbis Cascade Alliance, a consortium of 37 academic libraries in the Pacific Northwest. The library staff of 25 offers specialized research consultations, a course-integrated program of information literacy instruction, a librarian liaison for each academic department and program of study, robust special collections & archives, several curriculum-integrated digital initiatives, and a Visual Resources Center. When classes are in session, the library is open 24 hours every weekday. The Science/Data Services Librarian is an entry-level position that: * Provides leadership in the planning, implementation, and assessment of library research and data services in support of the natural sciences and other data-related disciplines. * Develops liaison partnerships with science faculty, staff, and students to support teaching, learning, and research and incorporates new approaches and technologies into existing and future services. * Teaches course-integrated information literacy, assists students and faculty at the reference desk and with in-depth research consultations. Librarian - Correctional Facility (8 Positions)

There are currently 8 entry level prison librarian openings, and at least 5 Senior Librarian openings, throughout California. All start just shy of $50K annually, and have excellent state benefit plans, and union representation (SEIU 1000). The first stop is to look at the calhr.ca.gov website. Then, search for jobs with the title Librarian, while leaving the Department field open. That should return a page with Librarian Correctional Facility and Senior Librarian Correction Facility. Each has educational and experience requirements, and an "Exam" that you must take. The Exam is very simple. Print it out, answer the questions, sign it, and submit it, with a signed CA Standard Employment Application form (STD 678). If you are qualified you will be placed on an "Eligibility List," and receive an "Eligibility Letter" in the mail. At that point, you may apply for specific positions, by submitting a copy of your "Eligibility Letter," and another signed and completed STD 678, directly to the :Delegated Testing" representative at each specific institution. MADL serves 119,450 residents in 21 municipalities and townships. Governed by an eight-member Board of Trustees, the 10 library locations provide excellent services and programs with 50 staff (30.13 FTEs) and a $3 million annual budget. The Library is anticipating a levy renewal campaign to take place as early as 2015 and has a capital campaign in progress-expansion of the Norton Shores branch to create Storyville-a library project modeled after the innovative Baltimore County program and focusing on early childhood literacy in Muskegon County.
