This role will involve the following skills and experience:


·Local Area Network/Wide Area Network experience

·Configuration/Implementation of network devices

·Network performance monitoring, troubleshooting and support

·Cisco routers, switches and firewalls configuration, maintenance and 
troublshooting

·Cisco ASA Firewall experience is preferred

·VPN configuration

·Windows Operating Systems (Server and Workstation)

·Microsoft Server Experience

·DHCP, DNS Active Directory

·VMware experience a major plus

·Disaster Recovery Solutions

·Technical Support / Troubleshooting


The Network/Server Administrator is Responsible for:

installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting all network 
hardware, software, and communications links throughout the CCRLS 
wide-area network;

configuring networks to ensure smooth and reliable operation for 
fulfilling library services;

ensuring network connectivity of all CCRLS servers, workstations, and 
network appliances;

monitoring network connections across the CCRLS network, providing 
investigation and diagnosis while resolving incidents/sevice requests; 
involving network service vendors, as needed;

managing and ensuring the stability of all network services throughout 
the CCRLS wide-area network;

managing firewall, and intrusion detection systems, overseeing 
installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all 
network-related equipment frequently conducting research and make 
recommendations on products, services and protocols;

researching, testing and developing new hardware and software solutions;

creating and maintaining documentation as it relates to the network 
configeration, network mapping, processes, and service records;

developing, implementing, and maintaining policies, procedures and 
associate training plans for the network usage, administration and 
disaster recovery.

Candidate must have at least an Associates degree in Computer Science, 
Information Systems (or related studies), or minimum three-years’ 
comparable hands-on experience as a technical specialist, with network 
administration.

An equivalent combination of education and work experience will be 
considered.

Must have working knowledge of a range of networking concepts, 
equipment, and diagnostic utilities.

Some knowledge of and experience with library automation systems (may 
substitute additional education for experience) will be given consideration.
