This position is nestled in the high desert plateaus of Eastern Oregon, 
in the beautiful and rural communities of Umatilla County, Oregon. The 
District Coordinator plays an important role in the Umatilla County 
Special Library District.The District is a premier rural federated 
public library support system made up of twelve independent city 
libraries. The District Coordinator works with a dedicated team of 
staff, and a passionate, involved elected Board of Directors that care 
deeply about the quality of literacy, library programs, and services 
that impact the residents of Umatilla County. The District Coordinator 
represents and is directly accountable to the Board of Directors. This 
position supports the development of member libraries, and facilitates 
and implements the administrative and financial activities of the 
special district. Duties focus on the initiation and skillful growth of 
District services in accordance with the vision and mission of the 
District. This role is a highly visible one in the communities and 
library services areas, and good networking, public speaking, and 
organizational expertise are important components of the position.

Candidates must have an MLIS/MLS degree with 3 plus years of relevant 
public library administrative experience.Library District and strategic 
planning experience would be a plus.A valid driver’s license and 
background check are required.This is a full time position with a 
starting salary range of $60,000 - $65,000 DOE, plus benefits like 
sick/vision and dental insurance, flex time, vacation and State PERS
