Dear Colleagues,
The OLA Leadership Taskforce is exploring various ways to offer leadership
development training for all levels of library staff. In December, the OLA
Board voted to approve that a Leadership Committee be proposed to the OLA
membership for approval. This committee will provide sustainable direction
for OLA's leadership development efforts. As we work towards this
direction,* the Taskforce is interested in compiling a list of people
working in Oregon Libraries who have attended PNLA Leads, and/or other
Leadership Development Institutes. * If you have attended a multi-day
leadership institute (library or otherwise), please email Elaine Hirsch at
the address above and below with your name and affiliation, and the name
and year of the institute you attended. This will be very helpful as we
explore opportunities for the membership. If you are interested in
engaging in our planning efforts, please let me know as well.
Currently the Taskforce has organized an all-day Leadership development
preconference at the 2015 OLA Conference, Leading from Any Position:
Creating Learning Libraries in Five Easy Lessons
