Willamette University seeks a University Librarian to direct the Mark O.
Hatfield Library, its Archives and Special Collections, and its
accomplished staff. The new University Librarian will bring creative and
strategic energy to the continuing transformation of a distinctive library
in the small liberal arts university context. Collaborating with campus,
community, and consortial partners, the University Librarian will lead
innovative initiatives to advance the mission of Willamette University.

The University Librarian serves as the chief administrative officer of the
Mark O. Hatfield Library and the University Archives. This position holds
non-tenured faculty status in the College of Liberal Arts and is
responsible for planning, coordinating, developing and evaluating library
services for the College of Liberal Arts and Atkinson Graduate School of
Management.

Founded in 1842, Willamette is the first university established in the
western U.S. and has become a national leader in sustainability and civic
engagement. Willamette's beautiful, historic campus features a residential
undergraduate College of Liberal Arts and two professional graduate
schools: the College of Law and the Atkinson Graduate School of Management.
The University's 2,690 students, of whom 2,013 are undergraduates,
represent 46 states and 42 countries.
