The Serials & Electronic Resources Specialist is responsible for
maintaining access to serials and electronic resources within Collection
Management Services in Watzek Library. Performs a variety of duties related
to serials and databases in Acquisitions, including establishment and
maintenance of access to all library continuations, which includes online
journals, electronic resources, standing orders, and microfilm/fiche.

This position is represented by the Lewis & Clark College Support Staff
Association Local 4912 of the American Federation of Teachers.

*Minimum Qualifications:*

1. Bachelor’s degree
2. 3 years of experience in libraries or related field
3. Knowledge of integrated library systems, acquisitions processes,
budgeting, and data collection
4. Familiarity with publishers, vendors, and trends in book publishing
5. Familiarity with the basic elements of bibliographic records (MARC21, LC
classification numbers)
6. Evidence of high level of accuracy and excellent attention to detail in
carrying out daily tasks
7. Accurate, moderately fast keyboarding skills
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
9. Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills
10. Ability to process a large amount of complex data to make sound
judgments and recommendations
11. Ability to prioritize workload and adapt to organization &
technological change

*Preferred Qualifications:*

1. 4+ years of experience in academic libraries or related field
2. Knowledge of basic accounting procedures; ability to identify and
resolve accounting problems
3. Knowledge of serials and electronic resource management systems and
practices
