ORSLA Annual Student Event

Speak with information and library professionals

Employed, unemployed, student, or working professional we all tend to put off looking at our resumes until the deadline for the job we want is 3 days away. We might pull it out it out a few times, look it over and wonder "which job responsibilities should be on here, does that adjective really describe my work experience, or even how long should this thing be?" We all know we need to get a second opinion but we just tuck the resume back (close the file) and forget about it for another day.

We have been there ... and we want to help by bringing together 5 working information professionals, all with distinct career paths, who will tell you about their real-life career experiences, critique your resume, and above all answer your questions about work and careers and finding work as an information professional. Spend a couple of short hours and know that your resume is in the best shape it can be.

Scott Brown - Cybrarian at Oracle, Owner at Social Information Group
Ashley Fejeran - Embedded Librarian/Data Specialist, Portland State University
