Please see the note below from the Office of Intellectual Freedom on who
you can volunteer to help at the Banned Books Readout Booth. They have
partnered with us to also have the ReadOUT for Orlando as well.

Peter C.
Chair
GLBTRT

This year's Banned Books Week will celebrate diverse literature that has
been banned or challenged over time. We are looking for volunteers who can
work in the Banned Books Readout Booth <http://www.oif.ala.org/oif/?p=6643>
to attract conference attendees to participate and support banned books by
reading their favorite passage from one of the many books we will have
onsite or from an Overdrive tablet that will be programmed with a library
of titles.

OIF is coordinating with the GLBT-RT and allies in support of the Orlando
gay community and with all who are feeling this devastating loss. We want
to stand together and raise our voices in solidarity with stories and
perspectives that are often shut down, censored, and attacked. “In defiance
of fear, ignorance and intolerance, the library community will continue its
profound commitment to transforming communities by lending its support.” –
Sari Feldman, ALA President.

*If you are interested and would like to support the Banned Books Readout
Booth for an hour, respond to Kristin (kpekoll at ala.org <kpekoll at ala.org>).
