[Libs-Or] Answerland Update

As many of you are aware, the State Library has been in the process of acquiring new software for Answerland. An RFP was issued in March, the evaluation was completed in April, and OCLC (who provides QuestionPoint) was named as the Apparent Successful Proposer in early May. Contract negotiations began almost immediately after.

Unfortunately, we have been in contract negotiations with OCLC for over six weeks now, without any notable progress. At this point, the State Library has made the decision to give OCLC until June 30 to sign the contract, or negotiations will be terminated.

If the contract is signed, we will start implementing OCLC's QuestionPoint software and begin trainings. If negotiations are terminated, Answerland will close for an indeterminate amount of time while we assess how to proceed.

We will send out the next update not later than June 30.
