Greetings! As you are registering for the 2016 OLA Conference, don’t forget
about the pre-conference!
This year the Oregon Library Association’s Support Staff Division is
sponsoring a pre-conference session called: PBS POV: Documentaries With a
Point of View.

PBS
POV supports independent filmmaking and airs non-fiction films on public
television. The films tell stories about the daily lives and concerns of
real people from all over the world.
You may have seen some of PBS POV’s documentaries on OPB, but did you know
that you can host film screenings at your library? PBS POV partners with
libraries by providing access to the documentaries, how-to guides for
hosting an event, and discussion materials.
Aubrey Gallegos, PBS POV Community Engagement and Education Manager, will
host a viewing of two films, facilitate discussion sessions for each, and
provide information about how you can host free viewings and discussions as
a library program. Visit https://orlib16.wordpress.com/registration/ to
register. Early-bird registration ends soon on March 21st; registration
ends on April 11th.
Looking forward to a great conference,
