We have a new policy for appropriate library use. It includes this as not allowed on Oregon Trail Library District property.


Carrying firearms and dangerous weapons of any type
     (except by law enforcement officers).

I was told yesterday by a board member, via a city police officer, that banning firearms on public property is illegal.  Does anyone else have this in their policies or know if it is illegal to ban firearms on public property?
