We're delighted to announce that registration for the OLA SSD (Support
Staff Division) 2016 conference is now open! Use this link to view our

This year's theme is "Coming to a Crossroads: Intersecting Roles in Library
Service and Community" and is conveniently located at the Holiday Inn
Portland South in beautiful Wilsonville, OR, in the greater Portland metro
area. Easily accessible from the freeway and recently remodeled this
location is equally convenient, comfortable, and modern. The conference is
Friday July 15th from 8:00am-4:00pm. Your registration includes your choice
of sessions, full breakfast, lunch AND an afternoon snack.

This year, in addition to the presentation-style format you’re used to we
are hosting interactive, panel-style sessions as well. These sessions will
involve a short presentation on a theme by the panelists at the beginning,
leading into a lightly moderated discussion involving everyone in the room
for the majority of the time. You’ll be able to choose which style works
best for you, so you can get the absolute most out of the conference, which
is designed to be relevant and engaging for all library types. Book mending
is returning and we're very excited to announce a new guided networking
session as well.

Looking for ways to save? If you register before June 10 you can save $$
with Early Bird registration. If you’re traveling from more than 150 miles
(one way), you may be able to apply for a $50 travel assistance
scholarship. Are your colleagues going? If your library/system registers 3
attendees, the 4th attendee may be eligible for free registration! To
assist with the SSD scholarship fund, OLA SSD has some fantastic baskets to
raffle at the conference so be sure to bring a little spending money.
