[Libs-Or] Looking for a hosting venue (in the Portland area Nov 3rd or 4th) for a talk from librarian Joann Ransom, past director of Horowhenua Library Trust in New Zealand

I need a little help.  Librarian Joann Ransom who worked on the original
release of Koha and it is a real pleasure to host her her in Portland,
Oregon (November 2nd to the 6th 2016) as she undertakes a World Tour as a
Koha ambassador.  I would like to find a place for her to speak and invite
as many Oregon or Washington libraries / librarians to attend.  Mainly I
will ask her to focus on Te Takere: transforming a modest public library
service into a 21st century community centre, which saw massive increases
in use from the public and a significant reduction in local crime.  The
days that I am looking for are November 3rd or 4th 2016 - either of those
days I am looking for a spot to host this interesting talk about libraries
and how many librarians would be interested in attending.  Please let me

Joann has recently left Horowhenua Library Trust in New Zealand, where Koha
was developed in 1999, where she had been CEO for the trust the last 6
years and many years as library director before that. After raising her 4
children Joann was ready for fresh challenges starting with 3 months
traveling the globe meeting many wonderful library enthusiasts and also
community members who have grown the original Koha into one of the world’s
most popular library management systems today.

Joann has three main topics that she is speaking about as she travels
around the globe: 1) Origins of Koha, 2) The Koha Community and what that
means and 3) Te Takere: transforming a modest public library service into a
21st century community centre. (This is not only for those that are already
using Koha but anyone that is interested in an interesting talk from a
great library leader)

“Releasing Koha under an open source license made so much sense to us; we
were a public library not a software development company and we needed a
much wider pool of librarians to develop the software further”.

Today Koha is one of the world’s most widely used library management
systems with a strong  development community that provides 24/7 support.

In addition to her work on Koha, which won the 2000 3M Award for Innovation
in Libraries, Joann was the first librarian outside of USA to be named an
American Library Journal Mover and Shaker – Tech Leader, largely for her
work developing Kete, another open source project that won the 2008 3M
Award for Innovation in Libraries and a 2007 World Summit Awards : Special
Mention (North America and Oceania) in the e-inclusion section.

The world tour includes Sydney, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Mumbai, Pune, London,
Prague, Olumouc, Vienna, Berlin, Dublin, Norway, Sweden, Marseille France,
Washington, New York, Vermont, Montreal, Kansas, Oregon and San Francisco.
